Roben Dieter’s labor and delivery story at the Mercy Health — Tiffin Hospital Birthing Center is actually three stories in one. All are key examples of the impact your support makes on young families in Northwest Ohio. 

It started with Roben and her husband Marc’s preparation. Your gift provides birthing, parenting and breastfeeding classes that all young parents need. 

“These classes taught us so much. We knew what to expect, the options available to us at Mercy, and how to prepare for the birth of our daughter,” Roben says. “We also learned about caring for a newborn and what to expect as our baby grew.” 

When the time came for baby Philomena to arrive, the experience was more than Roben could have asked for. 

“Labor, although painful, was made easier by the kind and compassionate nurses and staff who helped me through every step. They made sure I had all the necessary items and comforts I needed,” she says. 

Following Philomena’s birth, mother and daughter were caught up in a whirlwind of postpartum care. But Roben never once felt like she was out of control. 

“I have never felt more heard, seen and cared for than during those early hours,” she says. “Everyone took the time to listen to my concerns, answer my questions and make sure we were both receiving the care we needed!”

“The expansion of the Center is more than just an investment in a building or medical equipment. It is an investment in mothers, babies and families,” she says.
