Maumee High School students have new appreciation for science thanks to your support. Some are being inspired to consider careers in health care as a result.

Your gift to Mercy Health Foundation Greater Toledo continues St. Luke’s legacy in Maumee. Gifts to the St. Luke’s Legacy Fund helped purchase two Anatomage virtual dissection tables for the high school. These high-tech devices give students unprecedented insight into human anatomy. The tables provide 3D, interactive visuals of the systems of the body.

“This equipment makes learning about the human body feel real and exciting,” Maumee High School student Braden Bond says. “Instead of just seeing pictures in a textbook, we can explore and interact with what we are learning. We are one of the only schools in our area that has this technology.”

Braden says that the new tables are going to spark interest in health care careers. Medicine, nursing and physical therapy all make more sense to students when they see how fascinating the human body is.

“This isn’t just equipment. It’s experiential learning that can inspire future careers and a lifelong interest in science and health care,” he says.

Braden and his classmates are grateful for your continuing support of science education in Ohio.
