Scott is here for his family, thanks to your support of cancer services
When Scott Silver discovered he had lung cancer, it was already at Stage 3. He was told he would have only a few weeks to live without immediate treatment. Thanks to your generosity, Scott was able to get the life-saving care he needed right here in his community.
Scott is the owner of Norah Gracie Antiques. He spends his days restoring heirloom furniture. In 2024, he had a triple heart bypass but never felt like his breathing fully recovered from the surgery. A follow-up with his physician resulted in an x-ray and CT scan that revealed the problem.
“After a lung biopsy, the results were not good,” Scott says. “They said if left untreated, I would not be here today.”
Scott expected to travel to a bigger city for treatment. But after doing some research, he was thrilled to discover the care he needed was available in Springfield
“I didn’t know this level of treatment was available in Springfield. I don’t think people know how great cancer care is right here,” he says. “I know my care team personally. I’m not just a number to them. These are people in my community. People I’ve done business with for years. They know me and I know their families and that’s a great feeling.”
Your investment in state-of-the-art technology for cancer care is something Scott truly appreciates.
“This is Springfield’s best kept secret — I love it!” he says. “I had no idea they could make it that easy for you. They bend over backwards to make it easy.”
