Jane and Garry Moore are no strangers to pain. Both had suffered from debilitating arthritis in their knees for years. Thanks to your gift, they are both back to living active lives free from agony.

“Even simple things like walking and going up and down steps was the worst,” says Garry.

The Moores fortunes would change at one of Garry’s cancer treatments. He was undergoing radiation, and Jane noticed a pamphlet for low dose radiation therapy (LDRT). What caught her eye was that it was specifically talking about it being a treatment for knee pain. And thanks to your gift, it was available at Mercy Health — Springfield Regional Medical Center. Your gift helped fund the linear accelerator used to administer the treatment.

“After my cancer treatment, the doctor set me up with six visits for my knees,” Garry says. “It took one visit to feel better. I have no pain in my knees now. It is phenomenal.”

LDRT was a gamechanger for both of them.

“I’ve had arthritis for probably 10 or 15 years, and this really helped,” Jane says. “It is just amazing how it makes your life so much easier.”

The Moores are very appreciative you gave them access to the latest equipment and technology here in Springfield.

“Thank you for making this happen,” Garry says. “I’m cured of my cancer, which is phenomenal, but finding out about the knee treatment was amazing. We’re grateful as we can be. I’m really looking forward to being able to play golf again!”
