Michael and Stephanie Pisano may have moved away from Toledo, but the community remains close to their hearts. They continue to make an impact on the community that shaped them through gifts to the Healthy Connections program.

“I started giving when I was young, and it mattered to me because I grew up in Toledo,” Michael says. “The idea that a healthy start shouldn’t depend on your zip code is what got us. It’s why we keep giving.”

The Pisanos like Healthy Connections because it meets families where they are. It helps them with the things that make daily life stable. It offers parental education and connections to housing, food and transportation.

“When families have steady support early on, kids do better. That lifts the whole neighborhood,” Michael says.

They see the connection that helping one family can help an entire community.

“Knowing our gift helps mothers and children in our own community thrive is everything to us.”
