Make an Impact
Everyone needs life-saving health care for a better life. You can help.
Nobody should have to choose between paying their bills or getting their medications
Donations to the Foundation help people get the health care services they need
At Mercy Health, our Mission isn't a plaque on the wall. It's our calling, our True North. Patient assistance programs are just one way we improve the health and well-being of our communities and bring good help to those in need, especially to those who are poor, dying and underserved.
But we need your help. Your generous support means the most vulnerable people in our community can access resources that lead to better health for them and their families.
Prescription Assistance
When leaving after a hospital stay or a doctor's appointment, many patients need medications to continue their recovery at home or to manage a chronic condition like diabetes or congestive heart failure. Our patient assistance fund helps with the cost of medications for qualifying patients with a financial need and who are uninsured or under-insured.
Lend a Hand
Help people in need get medications to manage their health
Programs for Women, Newborns & Infants
Helping women and families have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies is important for the future of our community. The Mahoning Valley has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the country, so the need is great and urgent. With donations from caring people like you, Mercy Health can provide programs to reduce low birth weights and infant mortality by providing education, support and household assistance for mothers and fathers.
Programs like Resource Mothers, Fatherhood Support Program, Centering Pregnancy and a doula program are already making a positive impact and saving the lives of pregnant women, unborn babies and infants. These donor-supported services provide resources that help people have a healthy pregnancy, healthy parenting, ensure babies get wellness visits as well as nutritious food and safe housing for their families.

Dental Clinic
Dental health is important for overall health. And some people with underlying medical conditions may have special needs when it comes to their oral health. With ongoing support from donors, we can provide safety net dental services and a mobile dental clinic for the Mahoning Valley.
Mercy Health has oral medicine specialists to provide non-surgical treatments for complex oral and dental conditions at our St. Elizabeth Youngstown clinic. And donations are vital in operating three mobile dental clinics that visit schools, health fairs, nursing homes, doctors' offices, homeless shelters, soup kitchens and other community locations throughout Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana and Carroll counties.

Patient Assistance Mission Funds
For some patients with very limited income or who don't have support from friends and family, being discharged from the hospital brings a unique set of challenges. They may need clean clothes to wear home from the hospital but don’t have anyone to call for items from home. Some patients don't have anyone to pick them up and need a taxi to get home or to a shelter. A patient may need durable medical equipment to recover at home but can't afford the item. And for those with loved ones who visit or stay with them in the hospital, the cost of cafeteria meals can be a burden.
Our Mission Funds at each hospital are available to help people with these basic needs, but we depend on donations to ensure the costs are covered for every patient in need. You can support patient assistance Mission Funds at any of our hospitals.
