Cancer made it impossible for Terry Bunting to swallow food. During his intensive treatment, your gift helped provide him with the feeding tube formula he needed to continue fighting. For months, you fed your neighbor in his time of need.

“When I finally got nutrition in me, it felt like I had been starving to death and somebody handed me a meal,” says Terry. “It immediately made a difference.”

Terry had two extremely fast-growing tumors. One was below his jaw, and the other was behind his tongue. Within just a few months they were the size of baseballs, limiting his ability to swallow. Compounding matters, radiation treatments further irritated his throat. In total, he lost nearly 70 pounds.

“I got to a point where I just couldn’t take nourishment. So, they sent me to have a feeding tube put in,” he says.

Terry’s care team carefully monitored his weight and adjusted his formula as needed. He found that certain formulas made him sick. His team was quick to get him the right kind so he could consume the nutrition he needed. He credits both the expertise and compassion of the care team with helping him endure months of treatment and regain strength.

Today, he is back to eating again and feeling hopeful about the future.
