Mary Ann Bradbury has always been diligent with getting mammograms. That diligence paid off when she received the call that something had been detected on her scan.

What followed was a comprehensive series of tests. She had more scans, genetic testing and a biopsy. Armed with all the information she and her medical team needed, they decided a lumpectomy was the best course of treatment for her cancer diagnosis.

Your gift made many of those tests possible.

“It was the early detection with my mammogram that was the first step,” Mary Ann says. “They detected it so small, and other tests showed it was not the most aggressive form of cancer. Between those two factors I was able to have the treatment with minimal discomfort.”

Being able to receive her treatment nearby was important to her, but not as important as getting the best care possible.

“I knew from the start I wanted to stay close to home,” she says. “I didn’t want travel time, traffic, possible overnight stays to add to the stress I was already dealing with. At the same time, I knew that staying local was never going to be more important than receiving excellent care.”

Because of you, Mary Ann never felt like she needed to choose between the two.

“I feel like I was completely taken care of here,” she says. “I would like to thank the donors for making this as easy, and as pleasant and stress-free of a journey as could have I had.”
