Your gift helped Jena find hope and a new beginning
Jena Combs’ recovery was about more than overcoming addiction. It was about rediscovering her confidence. It was about reconnecting with her family. It was about finding purpose again. Your gift to support the Journey Back Court Program gave Jena encouragement, accountability and a community of support.
“Recovery is real,” Jena says. “This program showed me that life can get better and that there’s hope on the other side of addiction.”
Jena first became connected to the Journey Back program through Drug Court. What she found was much more than a requirement to complete.
The program helped her regain confidence in her sobriety. She began building healthy relationships. She volunteered at local events. She participated in community projects.
“It helped me not just be sober, but learn how to truly live sober and be part of the community again,” she says.
Jena learned that she didn’t merely want to re-enter society. She wanted to become part of the solution to addiction. That’s why she earned her peer support specialist certification She is now helping others beginning their own recovery journeys.
Jena says seeing others succeed reminds her how powerful community action can be. In a community deeply affected by substance use disorder, donor-supported programs like Journey Back are vital. Jena’s story is a reminder that recovery changes more than one life. It strengthens families, restores hope and helps entire communities heal.
“This program brought me out of the darkness into happiness,” Jena says. “The support people give truly changes lives.”
