Jeff’s Story
Jeff sees the impact your gift makes on men’s health
Far too often, men put off attending to their health until it’s too late. Thanks to your generosity, that happens less frequently in Springfield. The Men’s Health Expo brings awareness for men to pause, learn and care for their whole selves — mind, body and spirit.
The event runs even deeper for Jeff Pinkleton. He is the founder of The Gathering of the Miami Valley, an organization that connects men to men, and men to God.
“I think health is important spiritually,” he says. “The Bible talks about our body being a temple. Taking care of it is one of the ways we honor God.”
The Men’s Health Expo, funded entirely by donors like you, brings men together for screenings, education and critical conversations. It provides information on heart health, cancer prevention, mental health, nutrition, prostate health and fitness. The free event seeks to normalize preventative care.
As Jeff walked through the Expo, he saw the impact it was having on men in our community.
“There’s no way a guy could go through all those tables and not learn something that could change his life — or literally save it,” he says.
Because of donors like you, men in our community received care, community support, guidance and in many cases, a wake-up call.
“Every contribution matters,” Jeff says. “When Mercy Health creates something proactive like this — and donors fuel it — the whole community is blessed. Life is sacred. Supporting things that help men live healthier, fuller, God-honoring lives is vital.”
