For Dr. Anne Marie Tuohy, being a pediatrician is more than just a career. And being a Bon Secours Richmond Health Care Foundation donor is more than just a good deed.

“I feel like my job is more of a vocation than anything else,” she says. “It defines who I am.”

She feels equally strongly about giving back. Being a regular donor allows her to invest more of herself into her patients, into the organization and into her community. Her work has enabled her to see the impact that her Foundation contributions have on real people.

“Some of my patients previously used the Care-A-Van because they didn't have insurance. Now, we can provide continuity of care,” she says. “The Foundation helps patients bridge the financial gap when they are without insurance, underinsured or between jobs. That kind of support is always helpful and appreciated.”

Dr. Tuohy knows that everyone faces times in life where they need others more than they might realize. She is thankful that the Foundation helps so many in her community.
