Why We Give: Rural health care is the backbone of our community
Darrell and Jennifer Billings support the Mercy Health Foundation Irvine to strengthen their community. As the owners of Tanner Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Stanton, they know a healthy community is a successful one.
“Mercy Health — Marcum and Wallace Hospital has always been a staple in the communities they serve,” Darrell says. “Their consistency, their quality care and the personal side of what they do make it easy for us to give back.”
Darrell is also a former Mercy Health hospital board member. He has seen the difference local giving makes. During the pandemic, he watched the community rely on Mercy Health more than ever before.
“It shines a spotlight on what they do for our community,” he says.
From new mammogram equipment to a helipad and other long-term investments in health care, Darrell says it’s easy for donors to see their impact.
“It’s making a significant difference. Rural health care is the backbone of communities like ours,” he says.
