Your gift supports nursing scholarships that make dreams come true

Emily Callaway’s daughter, Chloe, was eight years old when she was diagnosed with Central Conducting Lymphatic Anomaly (CCLA). The rare disease attacks the lymphatic system. It is so complex that few hospitals will intervene to provide care. Because you support Noah’s Children, Chloe receives palliative care close to home.

“I can’t imagine not having palliative care. With the help of Noah’s Children, I think our children feel seen,” Emily says. “In all aspects of our life — financially, emotionally, psychologically and medically — we have somebody in our corner championing us.”

Noah’s Children is Central Virginia’s only pediatric palliative care program. Your gift helps kids like Chloe receive holistic, compassionate and comprehensive care. But you also support the entire Callaway family, which includes Chloe’s four siblings. In families with a chronically ill child, siblings can feel lost. You provide family therapy and events to combat that feeling.

“The sibling events we’ve attended allow Chloe’s siblings to feel special,” Emily says. “I attended the Mother’s Day brunch in May with my own mom and got to enjoy some time away.”

But Chloe’s health and wellbeing are still at the forefront. She has access to the wide range of care and services her condition requires. The staff takes time to know Chloe and understand her disease.

“There’s a huge misconception with palliative care. People don’t know what it is until they or someone they love needs it. Thank you so much for supporting Noah’s Children.”
