You’re helping Jonathan realize his dream of becoming a nurse
When Jonathan Sellers was growing up, he knew he wanted to play a role in caring for people. It wasn’t until a campus visit to Mercy College of Ohio that his dream became a reality.
“I loved it more than any of the colleges I’d toured,” he said. “Mercy College is amazing and I absolutely love it here. I’m so glad I moved here to be part of such a wonderful group of people. I’m looking forward to getting both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Mercy.”
Jonathan was able to attend Mercy College thanks to your generosity. He is in his final semester of the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program and he’s benefitted from scholarships, the student emergency fund and the learning commons. Jonathan is eternally grateful for the financial assistance he’s received.
“Giving people like me a chance to attend college who otherwise couldn’t have done it is amazing, especially when the people you’re investing in are so passionate to give back to the community through health care.”
“I can’t believe there are people out there who are willing to help someone attain that goal,” he said. “Campus life is better for it, and I’m better because of it.”
Jonathan is currently working as an emergency room tech at Mercy Health's St. Vincent Medical Center. Once he’s earned his degrees, he plans to stay as a nurse.
“Everyone I work with knows how difficult the program is, but they always have my back,” he said. “I’m honored to be a part of Mercy Health.”
