Make an Impact
Ensure healthy moms and babies, and a special birthing experience, for every family
Each newborn is unique and special. Every birth day should be, too.
Donations help women in Youngstown get the prenatal care and parenting support they need so more babies can celebrate their first birthday
One of the most meaningful ways to celebrate the miracle of a new life is by making a donation to healthcare services especially for mothers, babies and parents-to-be.
Donations help Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley provide the latest advances in maternity care and offer outreach education to help expectant parents prepare for a new baby. Gifts from donors like you ensure our birthing centers are well-equipped to start every baby off with the best foot forward.
Programs for Women, Newborns & Infants
Helping women and families have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies is important for the future of our community. The Mahoning Valley has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the country, so the need is great and urgent. With donations from caring people like you, Mercy Health can provide programs to reduce low birth weights and infant mortality by providing education, support and household assistance for mothers and fathers.
Programs like Resource Mothers, Fatherhood Support Program, Centering Pregnancy and a doula program are already making a positive impact and saving the lives of pregnant women, unborn babies and infants. These donor-supported services provide resources that help people have a healthy pregnancy, healthy parenting, ensure babies get wellness visits as well as nutritious food and safe housing for their families.

- Transportation for prenatal and postnatal care
- Essentials like diapers, car seats and cribs

- Mom support groups
- Breastfeeding support

Thanks to donor support, Fatherhood Support offers services like:
- Monthly home visits to prepare men for a new baby through mentorship and support

Help New Dads
Ensure new fathers have good role models and support to care for their family
Donations sustain this important program that many women depend on to help them take care of their family. The Resource Mothers program offers support, guidance and resources to new and expectant moms. Each participant is paired with a Resource Mother: a trained health worker who is a mother herself. They provide support, referrals and information to help new mothers make the best choices for their baby.
When you give to the Resource Mothers program, you help provide services that strengthen families and keep babies healthy including:
