Vince gives to honor his mother’s memory with gratitude for the care she received
Vince Carnevale’s mother, Joanne, passed away after a battle with breast cancer. Since then, Vince has honored his mother’s memory by making regular donations to the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center and Mercy Health Hospice of the Valley.
“She wanted to stay local, but at the time there wasn’t a place nearby that specialized in breast cancer treatment,” Vince says.
Today, the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center provides those needed services in Youngstown. Vince gives with the hope of helping others.
“If you can help someone else experiencing the same thing, it makes you feel better. What you couldn’t do for your own mother, you can perhaps do for someone else.”
When Joanne’s cancer was no longer treatable, Mercy Health Hospice of the Valley stepped in to give her compassionate end-of-life care.
“They were terrific with her and took care of all of us,” Vince said. “What they do there is nothing short of a miracle.”
