Sara and Julie give so that hospice can be there for others like it was for their family
Sisters Sara Lamacraft and Julie Davenport fully believe in the value that end-of-life in-home hospice care can have for a family. After all, the pair benefitted from hospice care with both their parents.
For Sara, since both were local, hospice provided the care they needed in her home. For Julie, who lives 2,000 miles away, hospice was a guarantee that Sara wasn’t overwhelmed by the burden of caregiving.
“I knew Sara was there for dad, and I knew hospice was there for her,” Julie said.
“My sister and I both knew we needed to support hospice,” said Sara.
During the process, both Julie and Sara realized they wanted to give back so hospice could provide that same comfort to other families.
“It’s a blessing to be able to give back to an organization where you can see the benefits of what you are giving,” Julie said.
