The St. Joseph Warren Hospital 100th Anniversary Celebration Dinner took place on November 19
Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley hosted the event at Eastwood Event Centre in Niles, OH
After a special mass at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Warren, over 350 guests flocked to the Eastwood Event Centre. They were there to commemorate 100 years of Mercy Health - St. Joseph Warren Hospital. Mercy Health associates, executives, sponsors and community members all attended the centennial celebration.
Attendees enjoyed cocktails, live music and a St. Joseph Warren Hospital memorabilia display. A fascinating time capsule presentation preceded a seated dinner and program. Hometown artist/actor, Joshua Triplett, served as Master of Ceremonies. He led a procession of speakers that included Mercy Health presidents, Sr. Carol Anne Smith of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary and the Most Reverend David J. Bonnar, Bishop of Youngstown. It was a night fit for a hospital that has meant so much to its surrounding communities for a whole century.
In 1924, Dr. Chester Waller founded the 50-bed Riverside Hospital. Unfortunately, six months later, he passed away. The Sisters of the Humility of Mary purchased it at that time, as he'd always intended to entrust it to them. In 1996, it moved to Eastland Avenue, where it became St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
Today, generous donors like you make the hospital a health care leader in the region. It's an award-winning institution, with the most advanced surgical suites and latest technology. Every day, people turn to St. Joseph Warren Hospital for lifesaving, life-changing care. And it wouldn't be possible without loyal Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley donors! Proceeds from this celebration all went toward the hospital. We want to say thank you to attendees for supporting the beating heart of health care in Trumbull County.
