A good education is important to prepare people for the future and to open up more opportunities in life. When Lorain's residents succeed, our community is a better place to call home.
Many of our donors understand the value of a college or advanced degree. They share their own success by giving back to help others. Thanks to their generosity, Mercy Health Foundation Lorain is proud to offer four annual scholarships and awards. With these, we aim to ease the financial burden of college costs or medical mission efforts.
We accept applications via mail only, from April 1, 2024 to May 3, 2024 at 4:00pm ET. See below for more information and a printable application.

Are you going on a medical mission trip this year?
If so, you can apply for the Denis A. Radefeld, MD Humanitarian Award. It provides a Mercy Health associate with up to two weeks paid leave and a stipend for qualified expenses.
Applicants must have at least five years of service with Mercy Health. You do not need to be clinical staff, but you must prove your involvement in providing direct care for the poor and underserved. The project must also be consistent with the mission and values of Mercy Health.
