Excellence in Nursing
Nursing is a profession that can be both physically and emotionally taxing. Our nurses at Mercy Health are dedicated to caring for every patient with equal parts skilled medical care, comforting kindness and hospitality.
Donations to the Excellence in Nursing fund ensure resources are available to support nurses in their day-to-day work as well as long-range career growth in their profession. When nurses need to recharge to be their best for every patient, donations provide special comforts and support.
Contributions also benefit programming that helps our nursing staff achieve and maintain Magnet status, an exclusive achievement given to fewer than 10% of U.S. hospitals with nursing teams that demonstrate superior patient care in a number of measured benchmarks. Thanks in part to donor support, Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Boardman and St. Joseph Warren Hospitals are the only Magnet facilities in the Mahoning Valley.

Scholarships
Donations for Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley's scholarship fund invest in the nurses and medical professionals that will care for our community in the years ahead. Helping more students complete their education ensures high quality health care is always available to meet the Mahoning Valley's growing needs.
With ongoing donor support, the Foundation provides a number of scholarships for nursing students and other fields at many of the colleges and universities in northeast Ohio. Some of our scholarships are dedicated to Mercy Health associates or their children. Others are open to any student and for many fields of study. Every gift toward scholarships helps build a skilled, compassionate health care workforce.
