Patient Assistance Programs

Funds that support patient needs are just one way we improve the health and well-being of our communities and bring good help to those in need, especially to those who are poor, dying and underserved. Each of our Foundations offers donors the opportunity to support local patient assistance funds to help people in that community, and sometimes even at a specific hospital.

Patient assistance programs help people who qualify based on financial need to get free or low-cost medications, medical equipment, transportation, co-pays or cost of doctor visits, food or groceries and other types of assistance that help patients continue to heal outside of the hospital. While the type of help available through patient assistance programs varies from location to location, what remains the same is the life-saving and life-changing impact your gift will have on someone who is struggling.

Global Emergency Response

The Global Emergency Response fund provides emergency relief that protects the vulnerable across the world. Donations to this fund assist BSMH's Global Ministries team in responding to natural and human-led disasters and in promoting peace globally.

We depend on generous, compassionate donors to provide shelter, food and essential medical supplies that directly help the poor and vulnerable. Thanks to donations, Global Ministries has partnered with disaster relief organizations to provide aid for emergencies in Ukraine, the Holy Land, Haiti, Peru, South Sudan and other countries. And with your help, our Global Ministries team will have the resources to quickly respond to future crises.

The Global Emergency Response fund is vital for initiatives that reduce the number of people affected by disasters by focusing on those in vulnerable situations. These initiatives also ensure support is continuous, from initial response through recovery. This fund is rooted in the legacy of BSMH's Founding Sisters and follows the principles of Catholic Social Teaching to protect the vulnerable globally.

Bon Secours Mercy Health Foundation donors support Global Ministries to care for the poor and vulnerable regardless of geography.
