Advance & Empower

Through our Advance & Empower Campaign, we're continuing our commitment to taking transformative action in meeting the health care needs of our community.

With the Advance phase of the campaign, our goal is to increase access to early breast cancer detection with a new state-of-the-art Mobile Mammography Van and establish endowments supporting patient care and outreach. In Hampton Roads, too many mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends are lost to a disease that is often survivable when caught early. Many do not receive screenings, not because they do not want to, but because life gets in the way. No transportation. No time off. No childcare. No access.

The Empower phase of the campaign is a philanthropic initiative supporting the construction of Mary Immaculate Hospital’s new Patient Tower. This expansion will include a modern main entrance and Emergency Department, enhanced Women’s Services and NICU, updated inpatient and ICU units, and a fourth floor designed to meet evolving healthcare needs.

Beyond the Patient Tower itself, this campaign represents a broader investment in the health of Hampton Roads by strengthening women’s services and emergency care across the region. Supporting this effort is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on our community and help shape a future where high-quality, compassionate care is accessible to every neighbor.
