Through our Advance & Empower Campaign, we're taking on one of the most urgent challenges facing women in our region: access to early breast cancer detection. In Hampton Roads, too many mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends are lost to a disease that is often survivable when caught early. Many do not receive screenings, not because they do not want to, but because life gets in the way. No transportation. No time off. No childcare. No access.
With your support, we’ll expand access to early detection with a new state-of-the-art Mobile Mammography Van and establish endowments supporting patient care and outreach.

The Mobile Mammography Van: Advancing Access to Early Detection
The Advance phase of this campaign represents an intentional step toward improving breast cancer care in Hampton Roads with a new Mobile Mammography Van. To make this vision a reality, our goal to raise $1.2 million by the end of 2026 to purchase the van, with meaningful recognition opportunities that will live on the vehicle for 10 years. This advanced unit will:
- Bring high-quality mammograms directly into underserved communities
- Remove barriers related to location, cost, and time
- Offer screenings at no cost or low cost to women who are medically underserved
- Identify breast cancer earlier, when treatment is most effective
By meeting women where they are—literally—we ensure that lifesaving care is not a privilege but a basic right.
