Cheri Cecala felt compelled to support the new Mercy Health Women’s Health Center from the moment she first heard about it. Along with her daughters Carmen and Ellie, the Cecala family is investing in the women in their community through a trusted partner.

“Our family has had a long history with Mercy Health — St. Rita’s Medical Center,” Cheri says. “My father sat on the board and my mother was the president of the auxiliary. My siblings and I all volunteered here.”

Ellie is an occupational therapist at St. Rita’s. She is thrilled to see a holistic women’s health facility come to Lima.

“I know it is going to serve our community and the women I see on a daily basis at a central location. It’s really exciting,” she says.

As a busy professional, mother, sister and daughter, Carmen understands how much is expected of women today.

“As women, we often forget to take care of ourselves because we are caring for others,” she says. “Having resources like this will make caring for ourselves easier.”
