Jim gives back as a way of following in his father’s philanthropic footsteps
Jim Yorks sees his contributions to Mercy Health Foundation as a way of following his father’s advice.
“Dad used to say: ‘Be positive, work hard, give back and honor God by doing your part to make the world a better place,’” he said. “When I can help even a little, I feel like I’m part of a bigger cause.”
“I have a strong moral obligation to do this, and I feel best when I can share my gift with others.”
He and his family are grateful to have access to great health care nearby.
“We have experienced firsthand what I think is the value of a local hospital,” he said. “It is not only the compassionate care they give, but the overall importance of their impact on the community and the people they serve.”
Jim said he also gets something back when he gives. “I have a tremendous sense of well-being when I’m involved in my community,” he said.
