When Rick and Donna Finkbine relocated to Urbana with their young family, it was the presence of a local hospital that really cinched the deal for their move.

“That really drew us to Urbana and Champaign County,” he recalls.

Two decades later, Rick says he felt the need to start giving back to the community. He naturally turned to Mercy Health.

“Joining the Foundation board coincided with my desire to give back to the community with some time and money that I’d devoted to my family earlier in life.”

During his time on the board, Rick has embraced the support provided to mobile mammography services as well as the recent renovations to the hospital entrance.

“The thing I like most about Mercy is that we have care for emergency services, but we have grasped that it’s all about the health of the community and you can’t only treat people when they are sick.”
