Melanie stayed in a hotel close to her doctors after a critical transplant, thanks to you
After Melanie Rose was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), she spent months waiting for a bone marrow donor. After finally receiving a transplant, doctors needed to keep a close watch on her with daily appointments to track her progress and monitor for complications.
It was a burden on Melanie and her family to make the two-hour round-trip drive from home to the hospital each day, and too expensive to stay in a hotel for weeks.
Fortunately, when Melanie needed help, you came to her rescue. Your donations covered the cost of her hotel stay for those first critical days. And it made all the difference.
“I’m so grateful we didn’t have to worry about the hotel. It is such a great thing to do for people when there are already so many things to worry about.”
“I spent 62 days in the hospital, including 40 at Mercy Health's Jewish Hospital,” Melanie said. “It was such a generous offer.”
