Peggy gets health screenings at work thanks to donors
For the past four decades, Peggy Snowden has worked at the local Carhartt manufacturing plant. She’s always on the go during her shift, doing a little bit of everything. And Peggy really loves looking after her “plant family.”
“We are with everybody at the plant more than we are with our families,” she says. “When we have somebody who is sick, we all pitch in.”
Peggy is proud that Mercy Health also helps watch out for the health of her “plant family” through regular health fairs. Employees can get important health screenings, schedule mammograms, and visit with dentists. Donor gifts helps make those health fairs possible for Peggy and her coworkers.
Peggy is grateful that donors help her look out for the health of her coworkers, so they can continue to operate the plant at a high level. She feels blessed to have a job that has kept the roof over her head and food on her table for so long.
“I do go to my doctor appointments. But we have people that don’t always have money to go see a doctor, and sometimes they don’t,” Peggy says. “This gives them a chance to be checked. When there’s a fair, we all go. Everybody participates.”
“I’m grateful you make it possible for those who can’t afford, or find time to visit a doctor,” she says. “This way, we can all keep an eye on ourselves.”
