Make an Impact

Bon Secours - Greenville, SC

Your donations help fund the snack cart, which lets nurses know they are valued

As our nurses continue to go above and beyond, it’s easy to forget that something as simple as a bottle of water or a tasty snack can make a positive impact on long days of giving life-saving care. When a hospitality cart was created to bring a bit of surprise and fun to the nursing units at Bon Secours St. Francis, staff member Kristy Jopek immediately felt the appreciation.

“We love to see the chaplains and Fr. Duncan coming around with the cart,” she said. “It really brightens our day.”

The food and hospitality cart are funded through your generous donation for the greatest needs, giving local staff the flexibility to meet the unique demands of their community. The cart offers snacks, bottled water, juice boxes and special touches like hand lotion and other skincare products. It also offers a brief respite from the unprecedented demands on our nursing staff.

“We all work so hard every single day. When we don’t get a chance to eat because we’re so focused on our patients, snacks and water are a great gesture.”

“Everyone is very, very appreciative,” said Kristy. “We all work so hard every single day. When we don’t get a chance to eat because we’re so focused on our patients, snacks and water are a great gesture. Sometimes a snack cart item might be all I eat all day because I don’t want to step away from the people I’m caring for. Those snacks remind us that someone is thinking about us.”
