After experiencing a stroke, Samuel Bryant suddenly found himself facing a long physical recovery. He also faced the stress of managing new medications without insurance. Your gift to Bon Secours St. Francis Health System’s Meds to Beds program gave Samuel critical help when he needed it most.

“When I was in the hospital, they introduced me to the program,” Samuel says. “I don’t remember much about being in the hospital, but I need a lot of help, and they helped me.”

Supported by the Gallivan Family Medications of Hope, Meds to Beds delivers prescriptions directly to patients before discharge. This helps remove barriers that often stand between patients and their recovery. Samuel is one such patient. Not only does it help cover some of his medications, it provides affordable access to others through a retail pharmacy.

“I didn’t have insurance,” Samuel says. “Without this help, I’d just have to wing it. Some of the medicines they help pay for, and the rest are reasonable. That’s made a huge difference for me.”

Samuel is still recovering from his stroke, but thanks to you he has stayed on top of his medications and treatment plan. He’s back to work and doing well. If not for your gifts to the Meds to Beds program, he’s not certain that would be the case.

“I think what the donors have done is wonderful,” Samuel says. “I had nothing to help myself with, and they stepped up and done what they’ve done. I appreciate everything anyone’s done for me, and I am so grateful.”
