Carey gives back to Mercy Health to honor her family’s legacy
Carey Kuznar learned the importance of giving at a young age.
“My passion for giving comes from my parents, who always gave back in a very visual way,” she said. “They served their communities through volunteering and giving dollars to organizations. They even included their children and 10 grandchildren in family giving circles during the holidays as a way to teach the importance of giving.”
When Carey’s mother passed away from cancer in 2021, she helped establish the Anne and Jim McGraw Fund for Oncology Innovation and Patient Care.
“We provide funding that supports new treatments and education, and we make sure families have what’s needed to cope throughout their cancer journey.”
The fund was created to honor her mother’s legacy and help Mercy Health continue to provide world-class cancer care and research.
“The people behind this fund recognize the road to a cancer-free world requires innovation, new practices and compassionate care,” she said.
