You helped Lori stop smoking and start sharing her talents

Lori Somen loves to sew, make crafts and bake, but her lifelong smoking habit was holding her back.

“I wasn’t able to use those talents because I was always self-conscious about my smoking,” she recalls. “I had been praying and asking the Lord to send me help.”

Fortunately for Lori, your donations support the Mercy REACH Program, which provides outpatient treatment services for those addicted to alcohol, drugs and tobacco.

Lori saw an ad on her local news station for the program and called the very next day. She says the classes provided her all the support and tools she needed to feel comfortable quitting the habit she’d had since high school.

“The support was one of the biggest helps for me. I feel like being in a classroom setting really held me accountable.”

“Thank you very much for making it possible for me to quit the habit that I’ve had since high school,” she says. “It’s a blessing to have a local program. It took me just a few minutes to get there for classes, but it’s given me a lifetime of health and positivity.”

Now smoke-free for several months, Lori is grateful that your support has given her health and confidence back. She is back at work sewing and taking orders for baked goods.

“Since I quit smoking, I smell better, I feel better and definitely breathe better.”
