Blake Summarell and his wife Taylor may only be in their 30s, but they’re already making a lasting impact. Blake is a donor to the Mercy Health Foundation Lourdes and Taylor is a nurse practitioner at Mercy Health — Midtown Pediatrics. Blake is inspired to give because of his wife.

“Through her, I see how vital compassionate, high-quality care is. It is especially important for children and families,” he says.

The couple believes proactive, quality care can change lives and bring peace of mind to parents. They don’t think a family’s financial circumstances should dictate whether they receive care. That’s why Blake encourages his peers to give back.

His advice to younger donors: Start small, think big and give to what you’re passionate about.

“It’s not just about money,” he says. “Your time, skills and voice matter too. And, most importantly, celebrate your impact. Follow how your donation makes a difference. Seeing real results keeps you inspired and connected to the cause.”
