Barb gives to make sure her neighbors have the best health care possible
Barb Chappell began her long relationship with Mercy Health's Fairfield Hospital by finding her mother-in-law a new physician. From there, both she and her husband Charlie started using the hospital as well.
“Before he passed away, Charlie was treated like royalty. Even when closer hospitals became available, we wanted to go to Mercy. When he died, I really wanted to do something for the hospital.”
Barb said they always felt like they were surrounded by family at Mercy Health, and she wants to make sure others get to experience the same feeling in a setting providing excellent care.
Some of the ways she helps is by making gifts for a special preemie doll used for training in the simulation lab, and to support the Mobile Mammography unit.
“My family has had such good care there,” she said. “I want others in our community to have the same.”
