Wanda Galvan is grateful to have a dear friend who helped her through some of the most difficult times of her life. They even battled breast cancer together twice. In the end, her friend didn’t survive and left behind two teenage daughters who had lost both parents.

“My friend’s passing was very difficult for me,” Wanda shares. “My heart was heavy. I wanted her to be remembered. I felt it was the least I could do for her.”

The nurse navigator gave Wanda a brochure about the Foundation. When she reached out, she learned about naming the Foundation as the beneficiary of her life insurance policy.

“It’s very easy to do,” she says. “I can’t give month-to-month donations so leaving money from my life insurance policy was the best way for me to honor my friend’s memory.”

Wanda’s gift reflects a strong commitment to local healthcare. It will support caregivers in providing exceptional care to patients like her and her friend.

“There are many giving, caring doctors and nurses with so much knowledge and training,” Wanda says. “I want to support them. I see God in those people.”

“This gift will help my friend’s legacy live on,” Wanda adds. “She was a fighter and inspired me to keep fighting, too.”
