You provided a way for Melody to keep her mind off being in the hospital: a library book cart
Melody Slone spent a month and a half receiving antibiotics in Marcum and Wallace Hospital. While there, she watched television to pass the time, but mostly she missed being home.
“The worst thing about being in the hospital is being away from home,” she said.
One day, Melody said she received the loveliest surprise when a nurse came by with a library book cart. Through your support, hospital patients like Melody can help pass the time reading while they recuperate.
“In a good book, you get taken away and it helps your imagination forget that you are away from home. I am grateful the library cart was there for me.”
“I like Christian-based novels and I found one to read,” she said. “That tickled me.”
She says she is very grateful that your support allowed her and other patients to have access to books. For Melody, it opened up a new avenue of happiness and healing during her stay.
“For people who like to read, it helps pass the time and even if you aren’t a big reader, that’s something besides just laying there watching television,” she said.
