With your help, Ashley is becoming an inspiring nursing leader
As a director of nursing at Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital, Ashley Beyer was honored to be selected for a leadership training program. When she found out the costs for the training were covered by contributions from donors like you, she was amazed and humbled.
“We all want professional growth but being able to make time for it and financially afford it is difficult,” said Ashley. “That’s why I appreciate our donors so much.”
Your generosity paid Ashley’s tuition for the Nursing Leadership Academy, a new leadership development program created by the Virginia Nurses Foundation and the Virginia Nurses Association. Intended for new and emerging nurse leaders across all health care settings, students learn foundational leadership skills and apply those skills to a project within their organization.
Ashley has completed one session, and she’s already excited to use what she’s learned to inspire and motivate her team.
“It’s really helping me grow as a leader and providing the tools I need to support my team,” she said. “I can give back to the nurses who provide that expert care at the bedside.”
Ashley still can’t believe she works for an organization that supports its nurses in such profound ways.
