Betty Atienza didn’t have much interest in going to Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center’s Cardiac Rehabilitation after having a stent placed in her heart. But she eventually gave in when her doctor insisted. Now, she says she wouldn’t miss her sessions for the world.

Thanks to your generous support of cardiac care services, Betty is able to get the physical activity she needs for her recovery. She's also made meaningful connections with other patients going through similar experiences.

“It really is wonderful,” Betty says. “I get to do a variety of exercises and the staff is there to monitor me, so I don’t overdo it when I get too enthusiastic. And everyone there is just so nice. They really do care about their patients.”

Betty attends cardiac rehab twice a week. She is grateful that your gift lets her have her weight and blood pressure checked on a regular basis. As a widow, she is also happy for the social interaction her sessions provide. She has made many new friends.

“It really is lovely to have someone say ‘hello,’ and ‘nice to see you’,” she says. “I’ve even seen some old school friends there who are also using the cardiac rehab services.”
