Healing at Home

Ensure every patient receives compassionate, peaceful, and dignified care.

Life-Affirming Care and Comfort for Seriously Ill Patients

Your support of our new Palliative Care Program helps bring comfort and peace to patients and their families

Thanks to your support and your deep commitment to compassionate healthcare in our community, Mercy Health - Marcum and Wallace Hospital has provided chronic illness management and end-of-life care to patients weekly here in the Irvine market. We hope to expand and improve that level of care with the implementation of a Palliative Care Program. With this program, we can focus not only on managing pain and symptoms, but also on providing emotional support, spiritual care, and guidance for loved ones navigating incredibly hard decisions. Our mission is to bring comfort, dignity, and peace to patients and families during some of the most difficult times of their lives.

Each day, our team supports families who are overwhelmed, frightened, and searching for comfort. Our goal with your support is to provide a designated area for palliative care within the Medical Unit, where patients and families can stay in comfort and peace, purchase needed equipment to accommodate the program, provide additional training or certifications needed for our medical care team, and identify needed supplies, equipment, and training in our primary care practices for palliative care patients.

The goal of palliative care is to provide the best quality of life for patients with a serious or life-threatening illness or condition. Our palliative care team is made up of doctors, advanced practice practitioners,  nurses, chaplains, and other compassionate, highly-trained experts who will care for your loved one's entire well-being — mind, body, and spirit

Our focus is on relieving pain, reducing symptoms, and offering emotional and spiritual support. We give care, comfort, and hope to patients with:

  • Cancer
  • Brain injury
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • ALS
  • Heart, lung, kidney, or liver disease
  • Alzheimer's disease
  • Stroke or other neurological disorders

By offering this full program, families and loved ones can remain close to home and receive much needed support through:

  • Guidance with difficult healthcare decisions
  • Ongoing emotional and spiritual support

Our goal is to provide a designated area for palliative care in the Medical Unit, where patients and families can stay in comfort and peace. As well as offer palliative care outpatient services for those in the counties we serve.

With your support, we aim to deliver a fully functional palliative care program enhancing quality of care in the counties we proudly serve.

Every dollar brings comfort. Every donation brings peace.

Your gift has the power to ensure that every patient receives compassionate, peaceful, and dignified care, regardless of their diagnosis or financial circumstance.
