New mobile mammography coach doubles the amount of patients being served in the Upstate

Funds raised at 2022's Festival of Trees secured the new coach

Thanks to Bon Secours St. Francis Foundation donors and Dabo's All In Team Foundation, a second mobile mammography coach has been purchased to double the service capacity across Pickens, Oconee, Laurens, Spartanburg, Anderson and Greenville counties. Bon Secours now has two 37-foot pink buses that will serve the Upstate, increasing accessibility to crucial services for working women.

Those services include important breast health screenings and education on breast self-exams for the uninsured and underinsured, traveling to churches, community centers and health fairs. Much of a coach's care is intended to reach at-risk populations, including free charity care for those that qualify based on financial need.

Funds to purchase the additional $950,000 coachincluding a 10-year warranty, equipment, and installationwere contributed by Bon Secours St. Francis Foundation donors, family foundations and through the 37th Annual Festival of Trees.

The new coach offers the latest 3D tomosynthesis technology 5-6 days a week. Appointments take about 15 minutes and a doctor's order is not required. Financial assistance options are available for those who qualify.
