Golf Scramble drives big results for liver health

Mercy Health — Irvine, KY
06/13/2024

On May 17, Mercy Health Foundation Irvine hosted its annual Golf Scramble

Despite rain, the event raised more than $7,000 for the hospital's Liver Health program

On a rainy spring day, people gathered at Estill County Golf Club for Mercy Health Foundation Irvine's annual Golf Scramble. Even with weather challenges, 40 golfers still participated in a day full of fun and laughter. Besides play time, guests enjoyed good food, drinks, prizes and raffles.

Altogether, the event raised $7,300 for a good cause. This year's funds go toward Mercy Health - Marcum and Wallace Hospital's Liver Health Matters program. One of the program's aims is to increase awareness. Another is to provide early detection—the best defense against advanced liver disease.

The funds raised will help purchase a FibroScan for the hospital. This equipment is a non-invasive tool that evaluates a person's risk of liver disease. As liver disease rates rise, it will be a critical part of Mercy Health's response. If you'd like to support the program, be sure to get tickets for our upcoming Paradise Luau (see below).
