Currents of Care: Rappahannock Legends recognizes local medical professionals who go above and beyond

The Bon Secours Richmond Health Care Foundation recently received nearly $35,000 in gifts in honor of Dr. Joe Bessler and Dr. June Daffeh, the inaugural recipients of the Currents of Care: Rappahannock Legends honor.

This new program, established based on requests from patients who wished to give in honor of their caregivers, recognizes local medical professionals who go above and beyond in the care they offer to our community. The program helps to support and ensure a patient’s safe discharge from Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital by helping to cover any special medical equipment or other needs a patient has but cannot afford on their own.

“Giving in honor of your doctor, nurse, or other medical professional is a way for a patient to express gratitude for the compassionate care received. Drs. Bessler and Daffeh have both had a long association with RGH and have consistently gone above and beyond for their patients.”

—Craig J. Kelly, Bon Secours Richmond Foundation Board of Directors

A group of family, friends, patients, and donors surprised Drs. Bessler and Daffeh to show support of their recognition. New recognition signage has been installed at the hospital in honor of the inaugural recipients.
