Healing from an illness or injury is a journey. A person's mental resolve and the comfort and inspiration of one's faith is as important to the healing process as treating physical symptoms of the body.
Caring for the whole person—body, mind and spirit—is what sets Bon Secours St. Francis apart from the rest. With vital funding from donations, our chaplains and pastoral care team can counsel, support and pray with patients and their loved ones through difficult times.
Spiritual care is one of the most visible expressions of the mission of Bon Secours St. Francis to extend the compassionate ministry of Jesus. Your faithful giving for spiritual care services means you, too, are an important part of our mission to improve the health and well-being of our community and bring good help to those in need, especially the poor, dying and underserved.
Mission Services
Whether within the walls of Bon Secours hospitals or through outreach into the community, donations for mission services bring the healing ministry of Jesus directly to people who need compassionate support.
Gifts to our mission services fund support chaplains and pastoral care team members, supplies and upkeep for our chapel, Catholic TV programming in the hospital and a variety of community outreach programs.

Statue of the Ascending Christ

With open arms and a face turned toward Heaven, life-sized steel and clay statues of Jesus welcome visitors to three Bon Secours campuses, including Eastside, Downtown and Millennium. The art installations represent the special kind of faith-based care provided at each facility. Patients and loved ones take comfort and inspiration from this image of Christ.
Each statue costs $200,000 and is entirely funded through philanthropy and donations to Bon Secours St. Francis Foundation. Fundraising is under way to install a fourth Ascending Christ statue on Bon Secours' Simpsonville campus, with a goal of placing the outdoor sculptures at every hospital location.

The fast pace and life-or-death situations make health care one of the most stressful professions. With your support, Bon Secours provides programs that help our physicians and employees manage stress, improve their physical wellbeing and maintain good mental health. When you donate to this fund, you show caring kindness for the doctors, nurses and medical professionals that care for you and your loved ones.
The fund was established in memory of Dr. H. Earle Russell, Jr. by his wife, Sally, and their children to help other physicians and clinicians address mental health concerns before they succumb to the pressures of their occupation.
