Then it became Richmond’s first faith-based, women-led and racially-integrated hospital. That spirit of innovation and inclusion lives on. A New Critical Care Tower for a Growing Community
To meet the rising demand for specialized, life-saving care, St. Mary's Hospital must grow. Bon Secours Richmond Health Care Foundation is assisting with a transformative $370 million expansion. At the heart of this project is an eight-story Critical Care Tower set to open in 2028.
This modern facility will include:
- Bigger intensive care units with private patient rooms, featuring the most advanced technology
- A dedicated Neuroscience ICU and expanded stroke program
- Renovations to existing spaces, ensuring world-class care for generations
- Multidisciplinary teams of experts, available 24 hours a day
