Fundraising campaign under way for new surgical medical center in Northern Suffolk
Northern Suffolk is a fast-growing area in southeast Virginia. As the population grows, health care needs evolve and gaps in service become apparent. With no surgically focused hospitals in this area of Hampton Roads, Bon Secours has been granted a certificate of public need to establish a surgically-focused medical center on the Bon Secours Harbour View campus.
The new Harbour View Medical Center is slated to open in 2025, allowing patients to receive much-needed services close to home, here in the community where they live. The new 98,000-square-foot facility, with a budget of $80 million, will feature innovative state-of-the-art technology and will connect to our existing Emergency Department and Imaging Center. Two operating rooms and 18 inpatient care beds will increase the community's access to inpatient surgical services, with the capacity to add additional operating rooms and patient beds in the future.
Some of the specialties offered at the new center will include:
- Orthopedics surgery
- Bariatric surgery
- General surgery
- Breast surgery
