For a cancer survivor like Jane Angelone, moving to a new community and a new health care system can cause anxiety. But she immediately felt at home at the Bon Secours St. Francis Cancer Center.

“My husband and I retired to Greenville a couple years after I finished treatment for breast cancer,” Jane says. “And with cancer, they never say you are cured. So it’s kind of nerve-wracking.”

Unfortunately for Jane, a subsequent appointment revealed another cancer threat. It was discovered with an advanced piece of equipment that donors funded just two years prior.

The experience showed her the importance donors have on health care. Jane was inspired to make individual donations and establish a planned gift endowment to ensure others receive lifesaving care.

“Everything I donate goes to the cancer center,” she says. “I am giving back now to pay it forward.”
