AngelEye cameras keep parents connected to newborns as they fight courageous battles
Save Lives and Create a Bright Future for Babies
Ensure the best life-saving medical care is available for newborns.
Going home without your newborn is an unimaginable reality that NICU parents face. But thanks to the generous support of an anonymous donor, new technology is available at Bon Secours Richmond-area hospitals that gives NICU parents the ability to check in on their bundles of joy at any time.
The live-stream technology, appropriately titled AngelEye, allows parents to log in on a computer or smartphone to check in with their little ones at their convenience.
In a recent interview with WWBT 12, St. Mary’s Hospital NICU Nurse Director Chelsie Meacham described how AngelEye eases anxiety parents may face and helps build meaningful connection between parent and baby despite the inability to be physically together:
“Providing the AngelEye cameras allows them to [stay connected], which really helps bonding, decreases anxiety, and really just feeling a part of the team and the support of always being able to be with their child, even if they’re not physically in the unit.”
Watch the video below to learn more about the AngelEye cameras, which are currently being used by 95 percent of families at St. Mary's.
This peace of mind provided to parents wouldn't be possible without your continued support of the Foundation.
