All proceeds go toward the development of a much-needed cardiopulmonary disease program

Cardiopulmonary disease has a 46% higher prevalence rate in Eastern Kentucky compared to the rest of the nation

The Mercy Health Foundation Irvine raised $73,500 at this year's annual charity event, “Boots & Bling” - Stepping Out for Healthier Communities. The event, which was held on August 16, 2025, at Kentucky Steam Heritage, proved to be another successful year of fundraising with the sale of 326 tickets/tables along with 113 silent auction items and nine live auction items. Guests traveled from areas throughout Kentucky to attend the premier event, including members of the leadership team at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

Sponsors for this year’s event included:

  • Presenting Sponsors – PBT Bancorp; Citizens Bank & Trust of Jackson, Kentucky; Mercy Health - Marcum and Wallace Hospital; and Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital
  • Diamond Sponsors – CG Bank, Modern Woodmen, and Professional Radiology
  • Friends of Mercy Sponsors – A+ Pediatrics; Appalachian Wireless; Piper & Bowers, P.S.C.; HMC Service Company; Spencer Drugs; Blaze Enterprises, LLC; Sturgeon Owl Partners, LLC; Little Rock Solutions; WSKV; and Meade’s Do It Center.

All money raised will go towards the 2025 fundraising campaign: the development and implementation of a cardiopulmonary disease program. Cardiopulmonary disease has a 46% higher prevalence rate in Eastern Kentucky compared to the rest of the nation, so this is a much-needed service for the communities we serve.

It is important to continue to focus on the health and wellness needs of our communities, while making an impactful investment in improving overall healthcare services available to those in need, our friends and family. Community members uniting year-after-year for this event allow us to accomplish this goal.

“The generosity received from our donors is critical in supporting our communities. We couldn’t do it without them,” said Kathy Withers, Executive Director of the Mercy Health Foundation Irvine.
