Bon Secours recently made significant headway on the Harbour View Medical Center project
As the year comes to an end, the 98,000-square-foot facility is truly taking shape
Bon Secours Harbour View Medical Center in Northern Suffolk, Virginia is still a work-in-progress. But the new surgical medical center is getting closer to completion every day. Construction churned along all year, ramping up in early fall. At the beginning of 2024, the exterior still needed bricking. Now, mock patient rooms are complete! It's exciting for all to see. Other recent developments include the following:
- Cast stone installed
- Operating room structural supports installed
- Passenger elevators installed
- HVAC ductwork installed
- Medical gas piping installed
- Loading dock ramp concrete poured
- Ceiling grid installation began
- Device installation in ceiling tiles began
- Drywall installation in clinical areas began
- Mock-up patient rooms reviewed by experts
- Entry canopy installation began
- Exterior metal panel installation on the front of the building began
- Bathroom wall tile installation began
None of these advancements would be possible without donors like you. Northern Suffolk is a fast-growing area in southeast Virginia. As the population grows, health care needs evolve and gaps in service materialize. Thanks to our supporters, Bon Secours can address those gaps. Harbour View Medical Center will feature innovative, state-of-the-art technology. The space will offer two operating rooms and 18 inpatient care beds, increasing access to surgery. With services including orthopedics, bariatric and breast surgery, more types of patients can get care. Your generosity is building a facility that will help a whole region.
