Bon Secours - Greenville, SC

Betsy survived a heart attack thanks to your support for cardiac care at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center

No one expects a heart attack. When one occurs, it’s important to have fast access to critical, lifesaving care close by. When Betsy Elliott had a heart attack at age 57, your support was already in action at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center.

“I felt very comfortable and respected by the nurses and doctors,” says Betsy. “There was no doubt they had my best interests in mind.”

Betsy had a heart catheter procedure that included a stent in her left anterior descending artery (LAD), the largest coronary artery in the heart. Even though Betsy had experienced a major heart event, she was confident in her care.

“The staff always seemed very knowledgeable. They showed me great compassion and cared for me.”

Thanks to your generosity, St. Francis provides clinically advanced heart care. Foundation support funds equipment for minimally invasive procedures, and cardiac rehabilitation facilities. As a not-for-profit health system, St. Francis depends on donations from the community. That inspires Betsy to give back as a way to help others get the best health close to home.

“I have supported the Foundation for quite a few years now,” she says. “The care St. Francis provides for everyone in all walks of life is very important to me. St. Francis is operated by our giving. It needs support to keep the quality of services and care they always offer everyone.”
